Extended Project: Naju Container Farm Retuning
Client: Container-based operation with 34 Antminer S9 units Challenge: Summer ambient temperatures exceeding 38°C caused frequent thermal throttling. Pool-reported hash rate had dropped 18% over three months despite no hardware changes. Our work: Two-day on-site engagement. Thermal imaging revealed inadequate intake clearance on the container’s south-facing wall. We adjusted fan curves, applied per-board voltage reductions of 50–80mV, and recommended relocating four units to improve airflow symmetry. Outcome: Fleet hash rate recovered to within 6% of manufacturer spec. Combined power draw decreased by 22%. Client scheduled quarterly re-assessments.
Extended Project: Gwangsan Hosting Benchmark
Client: Hosting provider evaluating whether to continue offering S9 rack space Challenge: Needed fleet-wide performance data to set hosting rates for the next contract cycle. Our work: Hash-rate benchmark reports for 48 units over a two-week window. Identified six units with rejected-share rates above 3% indicating failing hash boards. Outcome: Hosting provider adjusted rates based on actual efficiency tiers and referred failing units to a repair partner we recommended. Three of the six boards were recoverable after capacitor replacement.
